Tin plated desoldering wick allows you to remove to tin surplus if you were to generous while soldering.

Let’s begin by putting the wick on the board, where you made a stain.
Place the hot iron on it.
Add a small tin quantity on the area because the flux in the fresh tin is going to activate everything.
Keep your iron in the same place and at the same time, softly draw the wick.
You have to make it sweep along the iron to “suck” the tin around the pad.

If you wanted to remove a component, you can do it but you might heat a bit too much
I’d advice you to complete your toolkit with a desoldering pump,which would be more efficient!
