Utopia Mk2

Utopia Mk2 is the best version of the delay that started it all for Anasounds. It sounds even better but has kept things very simple still.

This is a preorder, we are already manufacturing the pedals and we estimate a maximum delivery date of end of September 2025.

The great history of the Utopia

The Utopia delay holds a special place in the Anasounds story. Along with the Savage, it was the pedal that put us on the map.
It became the sonic proof that there could be another way of looking at the delay effect, without having to choose between clarity and thickness.
Tape echoes and bucket brigade delays have an undeniable charm, yet they have a way of cutting most of your high frequencies, while digital delays preserve the whole frequency spectrum but lack an interesting personality.
Guitarists used to think they had to pick a side, but with the help of the PT2399 chip and an in-depth filtering system, a few boutique builders have finally found the perfect balance between the two – and better yet, a way for you to have control over that balance.

The Utopia Mk2

The first version of the Utopia came out ten years ago, as the answer to our endless attempts at preserving the treble content of our signal.
Many musicians became enamored with that approach, but they wanted a little more still. That is why we came up with the Utopia Deluxe and the Dystopia, both complex and feature-packed delay engines three years in the making.
But the quest was not over yet. Finally, here is the genuine Utopia Mk2, whose incredibly low background noise is yet another sonic step forward compared with the Deluxe version.
In addition, the Utopia Mk2 only has one PT2399 instead of the Deluxe’s two. Therefore, the maximum delay time is a little shorter – which shouldn’t prevent you from impersonating circa 1973 David Gilmour – which makes the slapback second to none.

More than a delay pedal

Compared with the Deluxe, the main difference is a return to the simplicity of the compact format.
The Utopia Mk2 has the same enclosure as our classic pedals (except it’s white), but it features a Tilt EQ that cuts the treble and boost the bass on the one side or boosts the treble and cuts the bass on the other,
and a built-in modulation to bask in the glory of vintage Memory Man-style modulated delay.
Modulation is controlled by a three-way switch in front of the pedal, featuring a vintage tape echo mode for a sweet and musical wobble, or a mode controlled by the trimpot settings inside the enclosure for a modulation that sounds the way you like it.
Inside, you will also find a switch that lets you choose between True Bypass or Trails Bypass to avoid cutting the effects too abruptly when switching it off.
The Utopia already had a great reputation for being a musical and user-friendly delay that won’t let you down, and the Utopia Mk2 will only strengthen that legacy.
